Alissa Fleming advises and represents a broad range of clients primarily in the areas of professional liability, employment law and insurance defense. As a nurse attorney, Fleming has litigated all types of matters, including professional liability matters involving the defense of physicians, nurses, attorneys, other professionals, hospitals, nursing homes, residential and nursing care facilities, as well as medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers in a variety of issues at the administrative, state, and federal court levels. Super Lawyers named Alissa a Rising Star for her work in healthcare law in 2013.
With regard to employment law, Ms. Fleming handles matters on behalf of employers in the areas of contract disputes, wrongful termination, harassment and discrimination and has experience drafting documents such as employment contracts, compensation agreements, employee handbooks. In addition, she advises her clients on situations involving discipline, investigations, and terminations.
Alissa attended the University of Virginia from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (with distinction). She was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, as well as the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. Alissa has extensive nursing experience in critical care settings, including the intensive care unit, coronary care unit and cardiac catheterization.
Alissa attended the University of Miami School of Law (J.D., 2005). While in law school, she was an Honors recipient in Litigation Skills.
