Stoney Named Associate with
American Board of Trial Advocates

Charleston, S.C. – Randell Stoney, a member attorney of Barnwell Whaley Patterson & Helms, LLC, has been named an Associate with the American Board of Trial Advocates. The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), works to elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession and foster improvement in the ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of advocacy to the end that individual litigants may receive more effective representation, and the general public benefit from a more efficient administration of justice consistent with time-tested and traditional principles of litigation. Membership in ABOTA is by invitation only; members are nominated by their peers as being trial lawyers of high personal character and honorable reputation, and who have met the qualifications of case participation trying lawsuits to verdict.
Randell Stoney focuses his law practice on premises and product liability, construction law and litigation and general liability. He holds an AV Martindale-Hubbell rating, representing the highest level of professional excellence, and has been listed in editions of Super Lawyers as one of the top attorneys in the state of South Carolina annually since 2008. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the South Carolina Defense Trial Lawyers Association, and the International Association of Defense Counsel. (IADC). Prior to entering private practice, Stoney served as both assistant ninth circuit solicitor for Charleston County and as deputy solicitor for Berkeley County.
A native Charlestonian, Randell Stoney has served his community in his involvement with the American Cancer Society, Goodwill Industries, the Preservation Society of Charleston, the Commissioners of the Pilotage for the Port of Charleston, the Center for Heirs Property, the alumni board of the College of Charleston, the Trident Technical College Foundation Board and Vestry of St. John’s Berkeley.
