Stoney Joins Barnwell Whaley as Member

Charleston, S.C. – Randell C. Stoney, Jr. has continued the tradition of practicing law in Charleston started by his grandfather close to 100 years ago. Last week Mr. Stoney made a historic move to one of Charleston’s oldest law firms, Barnwell Whaley Patterson and Helms, where he continues his 26 year law career as a Member of the firm.
Mr. Stoney practices in the areas of Premises and Products Liability, Toxic Tort, Construction Law, Retail and General Liability. He is certified in mediation and arbitration and provides the services of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
After receiving his J.D. from Campbell University and his B.A. from the College of Charleston, Mr. Stoney was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1980. He has served as Assistant, Ninth Circuit Solicitor, South Carolina 1981-1983, as Deputy Solicitor from 1983-1986 and is a member of the Charleston County, Berkeley County and South Carolina Bar Associations, the American Bar Association, International Association of Defense Counsel, the South Carolina Defense Trial Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute and is a Certified Civil Court Mediator.
Mr. Stoney has been active in the American Cancer Society, and has served on the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries and the Preservation Society of Charleston as well as the Commission of the Pilotage for the Port of Charleston. In addition to his involvement in many area clubs and organizations, he is the current Junior Warden of St. John’s Berkeley, a member of the Alumni Board at the College of Charleston and the Heirs Property Committee of the Community Foundation.
