South Carolina Mediators and Mediations

 Practice Areas

Barnwell Whaley South Carolina certified mediators and arbitrators.

Barnwell Whaley South Carolina mediators work to reach an agreement between the parties to a lawsuit efficiently and cost effectively.

As cases back up for years in court and the costs associated with litigation rise, more courts are requiring alternative resolutions before a lawsuit is allowed to go to trial, and many contracts specify binding arbitration or mediations as the only means to settle a dispute between the parties to the contract.

Barnwell Whaley South Carolina certified arbitrators and mediators are attorneys familiar with the law applicable to a specific dispute, and provide a neutral, balanced view to all parties in a lawsuit, often tempering unrealistic expectations and allowing disputes to be settled without an expensive trial.

M. Dawes Cooke, Jr., recipient of numerous awards and accolades from his peers and state and national publications as both an arbitrator and bet-the-company civil litigator, brings that same energy to the mediation table. You will be hard pressed to find a mediator so committed toward achieving resolution.

Randell C. Stoney, Jr., a third generation Charleston attorney, has focused his 28-year law practice on construction law, premises and product liability, and general liability. He holds a Martindale-Hubbell Preeminent rating, (the highest, formerly referred to as AV), and is listed in the 2008 and 2009 editions of Super Lawyers as one of the top attorneys in the state of South Carolina.  Stoney is regularly listed in both Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers.

Phillip Ferderigos, member attorney at Barnwell Whaley, works in the areas of workers compensation, construction law and insurance matters. A native Charlestonian, Phillip brings his restaurant family background to the table to provide not only excellent service towards a resolution, his jovial style strives towards amicable solutions as well.

John Fletcher, associate attorney at Barnwell Whaley, has been practicing law since 1997, primarily in the most complex matters in the firm’s civil litigation and appellate practices.  With experience in all levels of state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court, Fletcher now offers mediation services for his clients to settle their matters outside of the courtroom.
